What is Air Resistance?

NASCAR cars are based on road cars like rally cars.
For safety reasons to protect the driver they are equipped with very strong roll cages, seats and belts.

However it is permissible to convert a front wheel drive car to rear wheel drive for NASCAR.

As the NASCAR only turns left on oval tracks the cars can be asymmetrical with different suspension settings and springs on each side of the car.

Special cars are built for road courses.

All NASCAR cars must be equipped with a 6 litre, carburetted, V8 engine manufactured by the same company which built the body of the car.
