Medium speed tracks require the teams to compromise on the set up of the cars.

They need the car to be fast on the straights but also fast on the corners too!
These would usually be two different set ups!

The compromise is between downforce and drag.

Downforce would allow extra speed on the corners!
Downforce also causes drag which slows the car down on the straights!

These tracks require the cars to have medium wings and medium angles to airflow.

A set up which can cut tenths of a second off the cars time can sometimes make all the difference to the race outcome on a medium speed track!
