Energy transfer

Energy transfer happens when one type of energy transforms into another type of energy.

Energy is transferred within vehicles

Chemical energy from fuel is burnt inside karts and car engines,
as this happens chemical energy is transferred into thermal (heat energy),
light energy and into kinetic energy as it allows the car to move.

Chemical energy is also transferred from batteries into electrical energy when a circuit is connected by a driver switching the vehicles lights on.
The electrical energy is then transferred into light and heat energy.
