Examples of
Force = Mass x Acceleration

Having won his race a driver drops his 1kg champagne bottle
from the platform down to his crew!

What is the force the crew member feels as he catches the bottle?

If the bottle has a mass of 1kg
And the bottle falls at 10m/s/s

F = MA
Force = 1kg x 10m/s/s
Force = 10 kNewtons

Force is measured in Newtons (N)

1 Newton is about the weight of an apple

Mass is measured in Kilograms (kg)

Acceleration is measured in metres per second per second (m/s/s)
