What can I take part in without joining a club or team?

There is a growing interest in what might be termed non competitive motorsport
- track days and corporate events.

To participate in these, you need to obtain a suitable vehicle and pay a fairly modest fee to gain access to a track for half a day. Some safety requirements must be complied with.

Alternatively a growing sector of the sport is the 'arrive and drive' series such as Formula Palmer Audi. To compete in these you simply pay an annual fee and a car is provided at each round of the series. All preparation, maintenance and repair is carried out by the Palmer Audi team.
F1 racing
If you do not wish to drive, you might consider acting as an official at meetings. There are never enough marshals and scrutinisers (people who carry out safety and rule compliance checks on the cars prior to racing) in the sport. Details of how to become a Motor Sports Association licensed official can be found at the MSA web site- www.msauk.org.
